Before You Start

Regardless of which Canadian bank you use, you'll usually need:
 

Information from the UK Business

  • Business name: I Cry Diamonds Limited

  • Business address: 124 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX

  • UK bank name: Clear bank

  • Bank branch address (if requested): 4th Floor, The Featherstone Building, 66 City Road, London, EC1Y 2AL

  • Account number: 26217562

  • Sort code (6 digits): 04-06-05

  • SWIFT/BIC code: CLRBGB22

  • IBAN: GB72 CLRB 0406 0526 2175 62

  • Invoice or payment reference: FIRSTNAME+ORDERNUMBER

PLEASE SEND PAYMENT IN GBP (£)

RBC (Royal Bank of Canada)

  1. Log in to RBC Online Banking.

  2. Go to Payments & Transfers.

  3. Select International Money Transfer or Wire Transfer (availability depends on your account).

  4. Add a new recipient.

  5. Enter the UK business banking details.

  6. Choose the amount to send.

  7. Select the currency (GBP)

  8. Review the exchange rate and any fees.

  9. For fees select 'OUR'.

  10. Confirm and submit the transfer.

  11. Save the confirmation or receipt.

 

 

TD Canada Trust

  1. Log in to EasyWeb or visit a branch.

  2. Choose Wire Transfer.

  3. Add the UK business as the recipient.

  4. Enter the bank account details carefully.

  5. Enter the payment amount.

  6. Review the fees and exchange rate.

  7. For fees select 'OUR'.

  8. Confirm the transfer.

  9. Keep the confirmation number until the recipient confirms receipt.

Scotiabank

  1. Sign in to online banking.

  2. Navigate to International Transfers or Wire Payments.

  3. Add the UK business beneficiary.

  4. Enter the bank details.

  5. Choose the transfer amount and currency.

  6. For fees select 'OUR'.

  7. Review the payment.

  8. Authorise and send the transfer.

 

 

BMO (Bank of Montreal)

  1. Log in to BMO Online Banking.

  2. Select Global Money Transfer or Wire Transfer.

  3. Enter the recipient's UK banking details.

  4. Specify the amount.

  5. Check the exchange rate and transfer fee.

  6. For fees select 'OUR'.

  7. Confirm the payment.

CIBC

  1. Sign in to CIBC Online Banking.

  2. Open Wire Transfers.

  3. Add the UK business as a new payee.

  4. Enter all required banking information.

  5. Enter the payment amount.

  6. For fees select 'OUR'.

  7. Confirm the transfer.

Transfer times

International wire transfers to the UK usually arrive within:

  • 1–3 business days

  • Some transfers may take up to 5 business days, depending on the banks involved.

Tips before sending

  • Double-check the account number and SWIFT/BIC code.

  • Ensure the business name matches the bank account.

  • Use the invoice number or order number as the payment reference if requested.

  • Save your transfer confirmation until the payment has been received.
